The Kendriya Vidyalaya are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education (H.R.D.), Govt. of India, New Delhi in 1965, taking 20 Regimental schools. At present there are 1093 schools including 3 schools abroad (i.e. Moscow, Kathmandu and Teheran).
